Dryvit Announces Unprecedented 30-Year Warranty at IBS

The New Residential Warranty Program Marks an EIFS Industry First

West Warwick, RI (January 13, 2005) - Dryvit Systems, Inc., the nation’s leading manufacturer of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS), announced today at the International Builders’ Show its new 30-Year Warranty Program for the company’s two residential systems –  Residential MD® or the Sprint MD®. 

“We were the first to bring EIFS to the U.S. market, and now we’re the first to bring an EIFS warranty program of this significance to the residential market,” says Tony Stall, Vice President, Marketing, of Dryvit Systems, Inc. “Our new 30-Year Warranty is unmatched in the industry, and it’s a testament to our confidence in Dryvit’s residential products.”  

The two systems covered under the warranty are:

• Residential MD System® – Engineered specifically for residential construction, Residential MD incorporates a drainage plane between the secondary weather-resistive barrier and the insulation board that allows for incidental water to weep to the exterior. In addition to the substantial increased energy efficiency provided by the system’s EPS insulation board, Residential MD’s design flexibility offers impressive exterior details such as entranceways, window borders, arches, columns, sculptured looks and more.

• Sprint MD System® –  Ideal for residential construction, Sprint MD offers outstanding insulating qualities and versatile beauty with an extra level of moisture protection. The system's insulation board is mechanically fastened over a code-approved weather barrier over plywood or OSB substrate with Dryvit's approved fasteners, which provide maximum wind load performance. A drainage plane between the secondary weather barrier and the insulation board creates channels for a quick exit of incidental moisture.

The 30-Year Warranty applies to the construction of one- and two-family homes. To be eligible for the warranty, builders and EIFS installers must meet specific quality-related criteria. 

The builder must:

• be an NAHB member

• possess applicable state/local licenses

• conform to all applicable state general liability coverage requirements

• attend a Dryvit EIFS program for homebuilders

• possess a current Dryvit Residential MD/Sprint MD builder listing

The EIFS installer must:

• possess a current Dryvit Residential MD/Sprint MD listing

• possess a  current AWCI EIFSmart certificate
